Abstract

If there are no particles and if there is no collapse, then one can show that quantum mechanics rigorously implies we each have a non-physical mind where consciousness is based. A defense of the idea that there are no particles is made.

Comments/Discussion

Quantum mechanics is the discipline most likely to give us reliable information on the structure of reality. If one carefully examines the evidence for the existence of particles, taking into account the not-well-known properties of the wave function, all particle-like properties of matter can be explained by the wave function alone. Similarly, there is no evidence for collapse of the wave function. If we assume no particles and no collapse, then it rigorously follows that we each have a non-physical mind. Consciousness is based in that non-physical mind.
